We always want ample time to get it on our team’s calendars, and of course when booking a unique experience, like a chef or private dining, confirming availability is key! For our team and many others, holiday planning in 2020 is going to be well, wildly different. So, in honor of September 10th being “Swap Ideas Day” – here are some of our ideas for celebrating holidays this fall and winter in a virtual way. We’d love to hear your ideas for virtual holiday celebrations! Frightening Fall FunIt is scary to think that Halloween is right around the corner. With potlucks being off the table this year, there are still plenty of activities you can do! For instance, in honor of Halloween, have team members dress up in costume for your weekly meeting. After the “business” part of the meeting, hold a virtual costume contest. To encourage creativity, you could have different departments or regions work together to dress in a specific theme. Prizes can be awarded for most creative theme, or most original costume. Seeking more team engagement? Organize a spook-tacular virtual gathering like our Manor House Murder or our new Halloween virtual game! Remote teams go head-to-head from the comfort of their own home to complete chilling challenges. From Halloween cult classic trivia, to thrilling music challenges, and ghostly photo tasks – teams will have a haunting good time! Winter Holiday HappeningsEven though your organization may not be meeting face to face in 2020, you can still spread joy and cheer this December. Rather than doing a traditional “white elephant” or “secret Santa” activity, host a give back gift exchange! Prior to your virtual holiday gathering, encourage everyone to purchase a toy to donate to a local charity such as Toys for Tots. Rather than purchasing just any toy, each person should donate a toy that reminds them of own childhood favorite. On the day of your gathering have each person share the toy they selected and where they donated it. Keep the excitement going with our virtual holiday game, Oh What Fun! Have your group play in small teams, OR each participant can play with their own household. Players use their own mobile devices as they have a jolly old-time completing holiday-themed tasks. For instance, teams solve a riddle revealing “make a snowman” as the solution and are then tasked with taking a creative photo with a snowman. It will be anything but a silent night, as the group gathers to view a highlight reel of photos and videos taken during the activity. Watch this video for more info! |
