Which is why on Thursday, July 30th, we are celebrating International Friendship Day. This holiday which is recognized by the United Nations and celebrated worldwide, encourages organizations and groups to plan activities that celebrate global friendships and give back to a global cause. Being in the meetings industry and producing both virtual and live team building events, we are beyond grateful for our partners and clients around the globe. And in the last few weeks, we have been delighted that more and more of our clients are opting for virtual give back programs. Here is how you can stay connected with your team and friends while making a difference together while around the world… Causes You Care AboutWe genuinely believe that there is nothing that brings people together like giving back. So, why not survey your group to see if there is a cause or charitable organization that is meaningful to them? On International Friendship Day, have your entire group participate in an activity to benefit the cause. For example, you may find out that many individuals in your group are interested in environmental causes. On July 30th, organize an activity where each person can spend one hour doing something to help beautify the community. This could be something as simple as picking up litter, which in turn helps the wildlife. If your group happens to be in the same area, you could organize this activity in your local community (practicing social distancing guidelines of course). Or, if your organization is spread-out around the country or world, have each person participating spend one hour picking up litter in their own community. Be sure to have each participant share a photo of their experience capturing a job well done! *Pro-Tip, if you are organizing this activity for your company or business, allow your team to participate during “normal” work hours. Not only will your workforce be more likely to participate, they will appreciate you for supporting the local community. Consider this a morale booster to help increase productivity in the long run. Donation Quest Goes VirtualFor those who are looking for a structured give back program to celebrate International Friendship Day, our newest virtual game, Donation Quest, does just that. During this virtual experience, your remote team can collaborate as each participant plays on their own device (iOS or Android). Teams will meet on a video chat such as Zoom or Google Meet as they work together throughout the quest to answer charity-themed challenges. As teams complete the various levels in Donation Quest, they’ll tackle trivia questions, solve clever clues, and smile for the camera during the photos and videos tasks. All the while, teams will be earning money for the charity of your choosing! At the end of the event, we’ll provide a link to a slideshow where teams can visualize the fun they had during the experience, and your organization will reveal how much money the group earned during Donation Quest. |
